Better and Better

Day by day, the real Peter is breaking through. His pain medication has been reduced a couple times, the sores are clearing up, his skin is looking better, and we’re starting to hear some laughs. His fever has been gone for a couple days and his blood counts are rising. He still coughs and sleeps more than normal. He still throws up daily, but the overall improvement is clear.

Ty and Erika will get some discharge training on Friday, meaning that Peter will be checked out of the hospital soon. They need to stay close to the hospital quite a while (maybe up to day +100), so they won’t be headed home, but they should have a little more flexibility.

Just keep on plugging, Peter. You’re doing great.

We are so proud of you!! You are so brave. We have been thinking about you every day–that makes us smile!! Are you a doctor yet??? I bet you’d take great care of the other kids in the hospital. Hope you are outside hopping around like the Easter Bunny real soon.

  2. How good it is to hear you are coming around little guy!!! I was at Jenni’s at lunchtime and we talked about you wondering how you were doing today. You are certainly a strong fighter – we could all take some lessons from you!! We hope in a very short time you will be feeling much better and won’t be puking so much too – bet that’s no fun at all! We are thinking about you every day and saying our prayers. I can’t wait to see you at Jenni’s again!! Guess what? When you go back Jenni will have baby Ivy by then. She is a teeny tiny baby!! Keep fighting Peter; you are so amazing!! And you know what?? Your Mommy and Daddy are pretty darn amazing, too!
