The checkup yesterday went about as well as could be expected. The doctors were happy to see our little guy fully recovered. Peter doesn’t have any remaining pain and he’s running about as normal.
The hearing test revealed that he doesn’t have any further hearing loss, at least in the normal hearing range. That’s a great sign, but there’s two big rounds of chemo to go. Peter will come in on Monday morning to begin the 6th round and stay in the hospital for another 5 days or so.
On a side note, I have entered a team in the aforementioned dodgeball tournament, so let the trash talking begin. If anyone out there wants to leave a comment in an attempt to get in the opponents’ proverbial kitchens (and to encourage Peter), bring it on. On 1/27/2007, flesh and egos alike will be bruised.
Have a great weekend.
What wonderful news!!! Peter, you bounce just like a ball; we could all learn from your spirit! So glad to hear you are feeling good. We’ll be thinking of you as you visit Captain Chemo next week – stay strong little one!

Hello Peter and family!
Good news Peter….you are a true champion! WE will be praying for you as you go in for your Chemo Round! Keep up the great job buddy! Please say hello to Gramma and Grandpa Hanson, Mom and Dad, and your sisters. We hope to see you around the hockey rinks soon! Saw a friend of yours at a Gopher game – Dr. Bob (dentist from Brainerd) and he said you were recently running around at one of your Dad’s games.
Again, we are all PRAYING for you Peter.
As always,
The Westrum Family
Great news!!
My son Nate, 96′ Pittsburgh Hornets, is so happy for him and looking forward to some more good air hockey games with him at camp this summer.
Sweet Pete~
Here’s wishing you a great fight against the path thing as you begin Round #6! I went to the mall yesterday. On my way there, I passed the ice-rink… which, honestly, isn’t someplace that we pass real often – I saw the “Keep Fighting Pete” sign and was reminded of you and all that you stand for. You have most certainly “kept fighting”. 🙂 I have no doubts that before too much longer, the ice-boys can change that sign to “Pete Fought… and Pete Won!” Stay strong and tough this week, big guy! We continue to pray for you and think of you often!
With much love~

Dear Ty and family. Each update seems to bring more good news in Peter’s fight. Our prayers will continue for his further improvement in health. So many hurdles for a young child. Our best wishes to all of you as Peter continues his treatments. May your spirits remain positive and constant in this time of trial. Blessings to all of you.

Dear Peter,
Good luck this week. Can you believe it? After all of your good test results, you are on to round six. Way to go Peter! Keep pushing Peter and in round seven you’ll get to deliver the knock out punch! Take good care of yourself, eat, sleep, play, giggle, all of the things you are a pro at doing and let the doctors, nurses, and your family take great care of you. We believe in miracles and wish you the very, very, best!

Peter-
I’m so happy to hear you’re doing well! You’re such a fighter and your spirit thrives. You have been kicking that ‘path thing’s’ BUTT! Keep up the good work little man!
Are you getting your Uncle Matt pumped up for the Dodgeball Tourney this weekend? From the looks of it, he’s got a lot of hard competition coming his way…he’s going to need the luck!
I encourage spectators and those interested in playing to try to make it, even if you can only come for a short time! There will be plenty of excitement for all 🙂
Uncle Matt … you are lucky we can’t make it that weekend or the Milwaukee team would certainly meet that flesh to flesh challenge! LOL! Keep up the great fight Peter …
