What a great Christmas. Kids everywhere, bows, shredded paper, laughs, squeals — we had it all up in Brainerd at the Eigner’s house.
Now it’s back to business in the cities. Ty is in the midst of a big holiday hockey tournament in the St. Paul area. Last night we saw his team put up a good fight against last year’s state champs, but couldn’t quite pull it out.
This morning Peter checked into the hospital to begin his pre-surgery tests and will be back here at my house tonight, before going in again tomorrow. Today he is having the bone marrow biopsy; They put him under and drill into each side of his pelvis to get samples. This procedure hasn’t bothered him too much in the past. They will also be injecting him with a dye for tomorrow’s scans.
Tomorrow he will lay still in a little tube that will take pictures of his torso. The aforementioned dye “lights up” where there are cancerous cells. Hopefully there isn’t much to light up.
Everyone’s anxious to hear the results of all testing. To recap the last round of testing, the marrow came back clear of cancer, the tumor in the abdomen had shrunk significantly, and there was significant improvement in his infected lymph nodes. Even more improvement would be fantastic.
Hoping the great Christmas precedes great test results. . All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth? Well, Santa, we have a few other suggetstions: healthy blood counts, no mouth sores and clean bone marrow. We are wishing you all the best, because you are the best.
Peter Robert and his family.

Hi Pete-Man~
First of all, I must tell you that I think Parker really likes you! He is sitting on my lap now as I am checking your site. I pulled up the most recent photo of you “Check Out The Pipes”… and, I kid-you-not, Parker got the biggest smile on his face ever! He just started wiggling around on my lap and giggled! 🙂 Then I read this latest update, and just because I wanted to look at your darling face again, I returned to the photo…. honest to goodness, he SMILED, WIGGLED and GIGGLED again! I guess he knows a good guy when he sees one!! 🙂
So glad to hear that you guys had a WONDERFUL Christmas! I was certain that Santa would be good to you all this year! Did you put out the reindeer food that I sent home with Kate & Ellie? Rudolph ate all ours… and we even have sleigh marks all over the yard. I think the reindeer went for a joy-ride while Santa was inside eating the cookie and milk that Emily & Lily left for him!
I, personally, am soooo excited that you are scheduled for testing again! I can’t wait to read more good news. I am certain that the path thing is taking a hike far far away! These tests are just the tool needed to let us all know what a fighter you are! We will pray extra, super-duper-mooper-gooper-really, really, really hard for you today and tomorrow! Stay strong Peter…. you are doing so well…. keep up the awesome fighting spirit that you have shown us all so far.
My only wish for the New Year is for Peter John Eigner to be declared “disease free”! Happy testing…. and happy 2007!
Love~ Jen, Ryan, Emily, Lily & Parker
Hi Peter, We will be praying extra hard for you tonight! We can’t wait to hear all the good news that is sure to come!

Peter,
So good to see you and so many of your family members at the boys hockey games this weekend…your little sister sure keeps everyone on their toes, doesn’t she? Wow, she has energy!
Well, after a tough loss in the first game, the boys were able to rally and pull out two big wins from some tough opponents! Were you cheering hard for them? Support from fans really does make a difference.
And now we’re all cheering for YOU Peter, that you get some great results from this testing you are going through. We can’t wait to hear the good news, and we’re praying for you every day.
Happy New Year!
Cary, Lori, Luke, Brooke and Erica Swanson
