Hello to all of you,
Erika and I want to start by saying “thank you” so much to all of you. The prayers, love, support, gifts, visits, calls, e-mails and posts on Peter’s page have been “overwhelming.” We will never be able to repay you for how you have made us feel. This is the most difficult thing that we have ever had to deal with. Peter has been absolutely amazing, and Erika and I are drawing strength from him. He has the toughest fight of his life ahead of him and we have been dealt some real difficult circumstances, but we have to believe that God has a plan for Peter. We firmly believe that faith and attitude will play a huge part in Peter winning this fight. So please keep checking Peter’s page and praying, e-mailing, calling, visiting and supporting us as we move forward in this fight. As a coach if you tell me I have as good a chance of winning as the “bad guy,” I will tell that he is going to LOSE! You are all a huge part of Peter”s team and have significant roles on his team. We can’t thank you enough.
Love,
Ty, Erika and Peter Eigner

Tonight at the scrimmage football game at the high school field some of your hockey team members were collecting donations. :0)

Hi Pete.
You haven’t met us before, but thanks to your wonderful family we know much about you. I remember a time when we had dinner with your Uncle Troy and Aunt Michelle. We were catching up on the Eigner clan and I distinctly recall Troy singling you out. He said, “I know I probably sound biased but Pete is by far the cutest, brightest kid you could ever meet.†It was obvious that you were really something special. After taking in all your photos and comments on this site, it’s easy to appreciate the sentiments. You absolutely shine, little guy!
Pete, our three young kids say a special prayer for you each night. In fact, our 4-year-old son, Ty, asks to look at your pictures several times a day… says he’d like to hit the ice with you sometime. Stay strong and know that we are pulling for you and your family.
With love,
Sara, Kevin, Marley, Ty & Kaia
Ty, Erika & Pete;

We wish that each and every day holds hope for you during this difficult time. I am keeping in touch daily on the site, but also with Jen each time she talks to you. Our hearts are so heavy as we pray for the postitive outcome. Can’t wait to see Peter’s bright, sparkling little face again!! And to hear the ‘Hi Papa and Monga !!’ copied from Em and Lil. You are never out of our thoughts!!
Peg and Ron
Hi Ty and Erika,
Erika, I have tried to call your Mom a few times and she must have gone down with the girls to see you. Let her know that if I can help out with the girls to give me a call. When she gets back and if she has something she wants to do and not take the girls, I will buzz over and stay with them.
All our love to you, Ty and Peter.
Hi Ty, Erika and Peter,
We are thinking of you, praying and sending our love to you every day.
Peter – you are incredible and we are so proud of you. Sorry we aren’t there to say hi in person, we wish we could be. But we are glad there are so many people with you who are giving you lots and lots of love.
We love you all,
Tony and Emily (Walen-Odman)
Hi Peter,
We all are still praying for you all day and all night long. I asked Sam last night if he remembers playing with you (the daycare Sam goes to has holiday parties and play dates with yours) and Sam said “Yah” with a big smile. I bet when all the kids come over to play you are great at showing them what to do, such a big boy you are! Stay strong and have a good day.
lots of prayers & love,
Heidi
I just heard about Peter and wanted you to know that Peter and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Pete-man,
I just wanted to say good morning. It was fun visiting with you last night, at least until you started ripping those farts. After that my visit wasn’t as pleasant because I was having trouble breathing. On my way out, there were 3 nurses laying on the ground that I had to help up. Hopefully the nurses gave you something for your gas.
I’ll see you tonight buddy.
Love Uncle Troy
Ty and Erika,
Let me know if there is anything at all that you need today. I still have a lot of buddies in the Army who can take on a special mission or two.
Hi Peter and family-
I talked to your mommy yesterday… I had an emotional breakdown and needed to hear things straight from your mommy’s mouth!! I told you that you were braver and stronger than me and I wasn’t kidding! We miss you sooooooooo much buddy! I NEED you and your 2 sisters back here at daycare with us. IT IS NOT THE SAME without you. I think about you ALL THE TIME… during my quiet time at night when I am rocking baby Parker to sleep, I dream of you and all the happy wonderful times we have shared with you at daycare over the past 3 years… I want you to come make more memories with us, Pete. You are soooo much a like one of my own kids and I think that is why I am having such a difficult time with this… doing daycare means creating special and unique bond with each and every child that enters my home and my heart. I am trying sooo hard to draw on my own strenght to help ME get through this. Your mommy and daddy are remarkably strong … that became even more evident after talking with your momma yesterday. She and your daddy are more than ready to step up to the plate and help you fight this battle. I am too, bud… I am too!!! I am praying for good answers from the bone marrow and body scans…. let us know when you have results.
We created lots of sidewalk art for you on our driveway yesterday… I took more pictures and will get them to you as soon as I get them all printed! Auntie Tara is making a poster for area businesses to hang up so that the entire community can learn more about your battle. I saw the poster today…. it’s got the most adorable picture of you on it, Peter!!!! We are also all wearing LIVESTRONG bracelets here at daycare to supoprt you and all other people fighting cancer. The love and support we all have for you is tremendously strong….
KEEP FIGHTING PETER…. we miss you and LOVE you and want you back to play!!
Even in the darkness, there is light. Hold my hand, everything will be all right.
LOVE YOU, Peter!
Jen, Ryan, Emily, Lily and Parker Kelley
Hi Pete!
You probably don’t remember me, but I’m a hockey mom up in
Brainerd. I helped you take off your helmet & skates during
hockey camp one day in June while you were taking a break to
catch up on soccer in your daddy’s office – I knew you weren’t
taking a nap! : ) My kids Brendan & Maren play hockey, too.
Brendan was out on the ice for Mites camp when you were.
We sure hope you’re starting to feel better! We were very sad
when we found out you are sick. We’ve been thinking about
you a lot. Take care little buddy!
Love – Kathy, Dan, Maren & Brendan
Ty & Erika-
We’d be happy to help out up here if there’s anything we can do.

Hi Ty, Erika, and Peter,
I am so sorry to hear about Peter’s illness. I heard about this at Sertoma yesterday and I know you have the thoughts and prayers of the entire club coming to you and your family. This web site was a great idea to keep everyone updated and for all of us to send our best wishes to all of you. Just know there are a lot of people praying for Peter to be just fine and for you all to be home soon.
Take Care,
Beth Burnard
Ty & Erika,
Our hearts go out to you. We think about you and pray for you & Peter many time a day. We must all believe that God in his love & wisdom will do what’s best. Thanks to Uncle Matt for this site to keep us informed. May the strenght that being sent from all those who love you see you through this difficult ordeal. Our faith is being tested and we truly believe that Peter will be a survivor and beat this enemy.
Love, Uncle Dale & Aunt Joanie.
Ty & Erika,
From what I hear you too are amazing. As I read these posts I am truly honored to know you. Peter is very lucky to have two strong loving parents who are able to come together and present a united front against the “bad guy” who Peter will be “slap shotting” across the ice until he can get back out there and truly enjoy skating again.
Peter,
Way to go Peter! It sounds like you surely know how to help everyone appreciate and enjoy every minute of every day. As adults we sometimes forget the really important things in life … smiles, giggles and passing gas when necessary. 🙂
Matt … and visitors I truly appreciate your efforts to keep us all so well informed and entertained with Pete stories. I can sit back and picture your visits and laughter (still the best medicine).
Michelle … thanks for making me a proud Mom. I have no doubt that when you and Matt start your family; your children will truly be blessed as Peter is to have such devoted/fun parents.
All my love, strength and support through this very trying time in your lives.
Hello Eigners – We just heard about Peter’s illness. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you every day as you fight this battle.

Erika and Ty,
Karlie and Teddy are tying a fleece Minnesota Twins blanket for Peter. I will be in Minneapolis on Monday for work. Is there anything you need from home? I’d be happy to swing by – I’d love to bring the blanket to the hospital, or send it down with Dave C. Let Dave or I know what is best for you all. Your family is constantly on my mind, and I wish there was something more we could do. Please know how much you are loved.

Ty, Erika, & Peter,
We don’t know you guys well, but our son Adam is a HUGE Warrior Hockey fan and he LOVED the time Peter spent with Ty & the ‘guys’ at hockey camp this summer. Every day that Peter was there, Adam would come home and tell us how cute and funny Peter is.
Stay strong – we are praying for you. May God grant you peace, courage, strength and most of all healing for Peter.
Eric, Sue, Adam & Matt Fischer
Hi Pete, I’m gonna be sending you stuff. I know what you’ve been through cuz I did it too. I hear you love the Twins and so do I. Don’t be scared, we sent our angels to be with you. People did it for me and it helped me and now it’s my turn to help you. I played video games while I was in the hospital and you should too. i had surgery on my stomach too so I know how much it hurts. Maybe someday we can show each other our scars, ok? I’m 10. Have God put the best angels with you. We hope you like what we send you!!
Jake
I don’t know if you remember me from high school but I was in the grade below Troy. My husband Adam(class of 87) and I heard of your son from Dave Dubay. It is with a heavy heart that I write this, though I agree that the attitude and energy sent your way can make a difference. Please know that my prayers, as well as the prayers of my family, are with you. Let’s hope that this will all be just a bad memory one day and that Peter will be an inspiration of hope and beating the odds for all. Good luck and God bless!
-Ty. Erika. and Peter-

Hi Erika and Ty,
I’m so glad Vic was able to talk to Ty (and Michelle) yesterday and that Mary Hollway was able to contact you as well.
We all know what you are going through–it is very difficult.
Try to remain positive as much as possible–take people up on their offers to help- and always to be your child’s advocate.
When our son Daniel was diagnosed almost 5 years ago with neuroblastoma stage 4, he was in VERY bad shape. He had cancer everywhere–head to toe- and ALL the histology was terrible.
If he had gone 2 weeks more he would have not made it.
He had no symptoms until days before diagniosis, and just a month earlier had had a normal 3 year old well child check. So talk about having a truck load of bricks dumped on you on that day of diagnosis.
It was awful. So I truly understand how you feel and my heart goes out to you more than you can know.
As you also know, this past May marked 4 years in remission for our son! He is doing great and leading a normal life–just as a little boy should. He will be 8 in Oct.
It has been a very tough journey of course, but not without many many blessings as well!
Make sure Peter gets the best care possible, be his strongest advocates (which sounds obvious I know, but sometimes there are situations where you really have to excerise that right you have as a parent) and above everything else, pray pray pray. God is always with you. As are many loved ones. You are not alone!
Love and Prayers,
The Hammer Family

Hi Peter,
I went to school with your mom and dad and I met you once a couple of years ago. I am so sorry to hear your not feeling the best. After reading your web page everyday I know one thing is for sure and that is that you are the strongest, bravest and most loved little boy I know. Mine and Zach’s prayers are with you and we are including you in ours every night. Stay strong Ty and Erika, which I know you are doing. We are thinking of you everyday.
All our love and prayers,
Sherri and Zach
It’s stories like those from the Hammer family that shed more light on your battle, Peter! I know you can win this!
Ty, Erika, and Peter,
We’ve been thinking about and praying for all of you. What a tough time you are going through. We always notice what a cute, spunky kid Peter is when we see him at the arena and it’s hard to imagine him sick. We pray he’ll be back to his old self soon. Hang in there…

Peter,Ty and Erika,
Our whole family has Peter in our thoughts and prayers. Were wishing for the very best. We can’t wait to see his smiling face again at the rink!
Hi Peter,
You don’t know me but I’ve videotaped over a thousand high school hockey games over the past 16 years and around 250 of those were of the Brainerd Warriors in which your dad was head coach in at least 80 of those 250.
I have many great memories of some special moments in those game tapes and I’ll never forget the time when I was taping your daddy in a post game interview and you came running along so I focused my camera on you all the while your dad was talking to the press. You sure are a photogenic kid!!
I remembered thinking that someday I’ll probably be taping your high school career and that it will be fun to watch your career unfold.
Hang in there Peter … you’ve got a challenging battle ahead of you and I just know you will beat it.
Your story has touched many people and know that God is watching over you.
Our family is praying for your complete recovery.
Ron Gramer
Eigner family, Ty, it was good to talk with you briefly this morning. Amy and I and the kids will pray that God’s healing hand will be at work in Peter’s battle ahead. We will pray and think of you guys often. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help you out in the time ahead. God bless you all, Dave and Amy Aus
Ty, Erika, Peter and family…I can’t quit thinking about you guys and the fears you must have. Please know that many thoughts and prayers are coming your way from us and your many friends at Sertoma and St Andrews Church. If all it took for Peter to get better were the thoughts and prayers for him, I think he would be coming home tomorrow. God Bless you.
